He was predeceased by: his wife Roxie Armstrong Roney; and his siblings, Jacqueline, James, Roy and Shirley.

He is survived by: his sons, Willie C Roney Jr. (Jessica) and George Anthony Roney; his grandchildren, James Michael Roney, Roxannah Desiree Nowling (William) and Kathlyn Morgan; and his brother Johnny Roney (Lois). He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
