He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Davis; his parents, Herman Clifford Davis and Imogene Melvin Vickery; his grandparents, Wallace and Eva Melvin; his brother Herman Richard "Ricky" Davis; and his grandson James Jasper "Bubba" Miller.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Lisa Miller (James "Buddy" Miller) of Fountain, FL, Lolita Melvin (John) of Alford, FL and Jasper; his siblings, Wallace "Mike" Davis of Compass Lake, FL and Patty Noreika (Steve) of Bartow, FL; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Melvin, Francille Russell, Chris Melvin and Jasper "Cole" Shoemaker. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
