He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Howard Hammonds and Geraldine Richardson Hammonds; and his brother Dr. Richard Lee Hammonds Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Pair Hammonds; his children, Mark Hammonds and Melinda Hammonds (Mindy); and his sisters, Martha Hammonds Bates and Risa Hammonds Fielder. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations in his memory to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Orlando.
