She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gus Long and Mary Long; her stepmother Dorothy Hulett; her children, Danny, Stacey, Jeannie, Sharon, Teresa and John Jones; her grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Johnny, Abby, Jenna, Rebekah and Nick; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Meredith and Aubrey; and her husband Marvin.
Doris remained a homemaker helping Marvin with his plumbing business until it closed in 2000 due to his Parkinson's disease.
