He is survived by: his wife Cerese; his sons, Christopher Van Hooven and Cole Van Hooven (Alexis); his granddaughter Violet; and his siblings, Curt Van Hooven (Kathleen), James Kruger (Donna) of Atlanta, Cheryl Van Hooven of New York City and Jackie Ellison (John) of Atlanta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
