He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Nelson and Rita Nelson; and his siblings, Edward Mitchell and Bernadette Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Patrick Mueller, Joshua Nelson, Sarah Angelone and Caitlin Nelson; his grandchildren, Salvatore, Aven, Dominic, Dante, Christian, Nathan, Damien and Emerson; and his siblings, Rita Edwards and Nicholas Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.
