It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael R. Harris of Wilmington, Delaware, born in Streator, Illinois, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Harris and Neva Jones Harris; his sister Nina Uftring; and his great grandchild Amos Meinhold. He is survived by: his children, Todd Harris (Andrea) of Roanoke, Jana Gastman (Matt) of Roanoke, Dawn Frank (Brian) of Wyanet, IL and Jonathon Harris of Wilmington, DE; and his sisters, Pat Barnard (Dale) of Pontiac, IL and Betty Bertolo (John) of Roanoke. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
In honor of his passion for baseball, memorial contributions may be made to the Coach Bill Zeman Scholarship Fund in care of the Roanoke-Benson Education Foundation at Morton Community Bank.
