He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCourt and Thelma McCourt. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; and his daughters, Wendy Rutter (Brian) and Colleen Sadak (John). He is also survived by his brother and many cousins, nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers in law.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mill Creek Fire Company, (http://www.millcreekfireco.org), Delaware Hospice (http://www.delawarehospice.org) or Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, (http://www.lls.org).
