He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Rutter and Mary Rutter (McCullough); his wife Patricia A. Rutter (Handlin); and his siblings, Clifford, Earl, Harold Rutter and Marion Cook.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Rutter (Sue), Laurie McLaren (Scott), Patricia "Trish" Rutter (Robert Bird) and Susan Rutter; his sister Ellen Fitzgerald; his granddaughters, Ellen and Nancy; and his great grandchild Alexandre.
