He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Picciotti and Elsie Picciotti; and his siblings, Leon A. Picciotti and Florence P. Connell. He is survived by: his significant other JoAnn; his children, Joseph J. III (Susan), John R. (Katherine), Joanne Rooney (Gregg) and Bradley Gaudioso (Cecilia); and his goddaughter Dana DiSabatino-Lascelles (Scott). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
