He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Dr. Lisa Papili Carlsen (Allan), Michele Shaw (Bob), John Papili, Jr. and Francis Papili (Amy); his grandchildren, Bobby (Lauren), Nicole (DaKota), Jeremy (Kasey), Vincent (Kathryn), Nicholas, Olivia (Bryan), Andrea (Matt), Allan, Samantha and Joseph; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Josephina, Harper, Luca, Leo, Carmine, Adriana, Enzo, Gillian, Luke, Kendall, Giavanna and Angelo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Doherty Funeral Home - Pike Creek (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Beloved Church (907 Milltown Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the All Saints Cemetery (6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808).
