It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Wendell Rowan of Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Matthew Rowan and Dorothea Elizabeth Rowan (Bockel); his daughter Eileen Joan Rowan Catalino (Thomas); and his brother Richard Allen Rowan. He is survived by: his wife Faye Ruth Garner Rowan of Wilmington, Delaware; his daughters, Kathlene Ann Rowan Ortynsky (Taras) of Middletown and Linda Rowan Kennedy (John) of Wilmington, Delaware; and his sister Eleanor Fiol (David) of Penny Farm, Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Doherty Funeral Home - Pike Creek (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at the All Saints Cemetery (6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808).
