He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Abbott, Sr. and Edith M. Abbott (Golt); his siblings, Joseph, Tom Abbott, Barbara Abbott and Jesse; and his sister-in-law Bernice Calloway.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen K. Abbott (DeMasi); his children, Edward J. Abbott III (Michele) of Wilmington, DE and Jennifer K. Bellamy (Curtis) of Wilmington, DE.; his grandchildren, Marissa (Jason), Chelsea, Mia, Anthony, Dylan, Teddy, Chase and Bryce; his brother John Abbott (Suzanne) of Newark, DE; and his brother-in-law David DeMasi (Rose) of Wilmington, DE. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Doherty Funeral Home - Pike Creek (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
