With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Selmer Tilley (Wilmington, Delaware), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 11, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmers Tilley and Marian Tilley (O'Neill); his grandson Michael Tilley; and his granddaughter-in-law Michal Tilley (Alex). He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie McCardle; his sons, Douglas Tilley (Cinde) and Joseph Tilley (Karen); his grandchildren, Christopher Tilley (Ashley), Ryan Tilley (Megan), Jessica Tilley, Alex Tilley and Sara Benami (David); his granddaughter-in-law Sarah Tilley; his great grandchildren, Lucy and Wesley Tilley; and his brother Howard Tilley.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Doherty Funeral Home - Pike Creek (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the All Saints Cemetery (6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808).
