He was predeceased by: his son Bob Swain; and his brother Rodger Swain. He is survived by: his wife Sondra R. "Sandy" Swain; his children, Sharon Wright (Charles Young), Daniel Swain, Susan Eveland (Elwood), Denise Reburn (Michael Kammerdiener), Ruthann Will (John), Gladys Chamberlain (Bob Swain) and Jennifer Patterson (Chris Schneider); and his siblings, Marvin Swain (Betty), Carolyn Swain and Allan Swain (Kathy). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

The family would appreciate in lieu of flowers that contributions in Dave's memory be made to Richardson Park United Methodist Church, 11.
