She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Shorts and Kathryn Shorts; her husband Charles M. Carter; her sister Betty S. Lockwood; her children, Paul Carter (Ann), Catherine Brown (Foster) and Phyllis Wallis (Norman); her grandchildren, Charlie Carter (Nina), Norman Wallis, Jr. (Taylor), Paul Carter, Jr. (Katie), Jessica Dixon (DeShawn), Lauren Slaughter (Archie) and Samantha Slaughter; and her great grandchildren, Jordan Carter, Layne Carter, Carter Wallis, Bradley Wallis, Darla Carter, DeShawn Dixon, Jr., Hazel Slaughter, Isaiah Dixon, Ciyana Demby, Aaliyah Dixon, Isabella Demby and Colby Morris. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
