He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Tidwell and Vivienne Tidwell (Heald); his children, Linda, Karen and Matthew; and his sister Linda Barrett.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Tidwell (Kristina) and Stacy Tidwell; and his grandchildren, Austin, Christopher, Gabrielle and Kayla.
