He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Thomas and Mary Thomas; his wife Marion "Jean" Thomas; and his siblings, David Thomas and Betty Lowe.

He is survived by: his sister Effie Medford-Hatheway; his children, William "Bill" Thomas, Jr., J. Kevin Thomas, Debbie Biggie, Cassandra Williamson and Sheila Neath; and his pet Lucy. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
