She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Arthur and Alice Arthur (McGrath); her brothers, Richard and Patrick Arthur; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Schaffer.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence Schaffer; her grandson Brian Purnell of Smyrna, DE; her children, Kurtis Schaffer of Huxley, IA, Carly Niemand (Chris) of Clear Lake, IA, Chelsea Gegner (Jayson) of Seattle, WA and Christa Hernandez of Des Moines, IA; her great grandchildren, Ian, Caitlyn Schaffer of Huxley, IA, Wren Niemand of Clear Lake, IA, Mario and Marcos Hernandez of Des Moines, IA.; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Arthur of Ticonderoga, NY and Frances Arthur of Slingerlands, NY.. She is also survived by three sisters.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary's name to St. Jude's.
