Jack Allen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Allen (Smyrna, Delaware), who passed away on October 12, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In his prime, he was 6'4" tall and around 300lbs and was a force to be reckoned with. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Clifford, Howard and Paul; and his sisters Frances and Phyllis, and his granddaughter Kimberly. He is survived by his younger brother, Richard (Earline), his current wife of 21 years Gail Lurty Denney Allen, his daughter Tracey Carol Allen Mulveny (Daniel), his granddaughters Leila, Peri and Rose Mulveny, and his beloved stepchildren and step grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by Pam Allen Baldry, Christie Allen Soldani, Michael Allen, and extended family. The family is especially thankful to the staff of the Delaware Veteran's Home for the loving care they provided him for the last two years of his life. Theirs is a thankless job, done out of love for our veterans, and they put up with a lot. The family also offers a special thank you to Evan Denney for being such a good buddy to "Pop-Pop Jack." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware Veteran's Home in Jack's memory.
