It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Jarrell of Smyrna, Delaware, who passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Martin, Eldred, John, Robert, Donald, Bertha Bell Ennis and Marilyn Ottinger; and his parents, Clarence Jarrell and Ruth Jarrell (Bohannon).
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Jarrell (Cooke); his children, Russel Jarrell (Joy), Kimberly Jarrell and William Cox, Sr. (Terri); his brother Alvin Jarrell (Sharon); his grandsons, Louis Calderon, III (Leslie), Trevor Calderon, Austin Murtha (Patricia), William Cox, Jr. (Gina) and Anthony Cox (Bijou); and his great grandchildren, Bianca Murtha, Riley Murtha, Austin Murtha II, Olivia Calderon, Roman Calderon and Charlotte Cox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Gene's memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or The American Cancer Society.
