It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Della Mae Chase of Smyrna, Delaware, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on October 20, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Fretz and Elsie Fretz; her husband William T. Chase; her siblings, David, Herbert, William, Robert, Irvin, Ronald Fretz, Frances Shetzler, Betty Harris and Doris Forsythe; her grandson Michael Kohler; her son-in-law Willie Johnson; her sister Gloria Dale Runyon of North Dakota; her children, Joyce Johnson-Lee (Charles) of Dover, Beverly Cherriman (David) of Clayton, William Chase, Jr. (Maria) of Clayton and Dawn Fox (Kevin) of Clayton; and her grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson of Dover, William Chase III of Sunbury, PA, Jillian Austin (Paul) of Kenton, Kevin Fox (Cassie) of Hartly, Joshua Cherriman (Alexa) of Annapolis, MD, Quinn Odorizzi (Marcus) of Middletown, MD, Kelly Tallhammer (Preston) of Magnolia and Maya Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Smyrna, DE for many years until COVID.
