He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Walter C. "Doc" and Thelma Deakyne of Smyrna, DE.; his wife Carole K. Deakyne; his brother Walter C.; his sister-in-law Mary Louise Deakyne Jr.; and his nephew Walter C. Deakyne III.
He is survived by: his niece Dina Deakyne (Josh Wharton); and his grandchildren, Bella Uffelman, Blake Uffelman, David Deakyne III and Zachary Deakyne.
