It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Elizabeth Pate (Smyrna, Delaware), who passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Berneda Atwell and Herman Atwell; and her siblings, Stanley, Herman, Brian Atwell and Lynda Palmer.
She is survived by: her husband Eugene Pate; her children, Rose Mitchell (Tony) and Eugene Pate Jr.; her stepdaughter Bertha Mathis-Goodwin (Brad); her sister Rose Annette Ruen; and her grandsons, Dontay Wallace, Sean Gibson and Brandon Gibson. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 9:00 AM and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Faries Funeral Directors (29 S Main St, Smyrna, DE 19977). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
