He was predeceased by: his mother Anna Marie Craik (Merck). He is survived by: his wife Connie Whalen (Layne); his stepdaughters, Kelly Howe and Michelle Wilk; his granddaughters, Sophie Tugman, Amanda Wilk, Aslan Tugman, Katie Tillotson and Abigail Wilk; and his siblings, Daniel Whalen, Sister Anita Whalen and Loretta Danzl. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Thom's name to Compassionate Care Hospice c/o Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
