He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jones and Dorcas Jones (Kersey); his sons, Robert David Pettit, Sr., Johnny Nolan Pettit and Rick Jones; and his wife Irene G. Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Jones (Rosie), Jerry Lee (Denise), Jeffrey Jones (Zee), Lisa Jones, Karen Jones and Richard Pettit, Sr.; and his sisters, Glenda Revard, Nancy "Mickey" Foster and Barbara Jean Fries. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family in-laws and so many more extended family.
The military honors will be held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966).
