George Godfrey Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Godfrey (Seaford, Delaware), born in Millsboro, Delaware, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elwood and Alberta Torbert Godfrey; and his brothers, Preston Elwood and Charles Robert. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Leister Godfrey; his children, Guy Michael (Mary Lou) of Tampa, FL, Beverly Ann (Jamie) of Philadelphia, PA and Marybeth Bounds (Christian) of Salisbury, MD; his sister Betty Godfrey Mitchell of South Port, NC.; and his grandchildren, Charles Franklin Godfrey (Katherine) of Gore, VA, Catherine, Elizabeth and Garrett Bounds of Salisbury, MD. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service may be scheduled after COVID restrictions are lifted.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Pecometh Camp and Retreat Ministries (136 Bookers Wharf Rd. Centreville, MD 21617) or to any of the churches he served.
