He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ryan Lewis and Catherine Law Lewis; his brother Herbert N. Lewis; his granddaughter Camryn Lain; and his son-in-law Robert Lain.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Chain Lewis; his children, Donald (Nancy), Christopher (Carol), Susan Lain and Lisa Caudle (Scott); and his stepdaughter Susan Kitchen. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews.
