She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edward West and Carolyn Paterson Bardsley. She is survived by: her brothers, Donald and Charles (Ed); her former spouse Gene Wharton; her daughter Barbara; her husband John Schade; her children, Jeffrey Wharton (Peggy), Beth Rogers (Dave) and Kevin Wharton (Nancy); her stepson Robert Kauffman (Teresa); her grandchildren, Meghan Hudson (Ryan), Melanie Wharton, Carly Wharton, Olivia Rogers, Amber Graham (Cody), Kevin Wharton, JD Kane and Chelsea Dubinski R. J. Kauffman (Jake); and her great grandchildren, Mila Hudson, Oliver Graham, Callum, Easton, Josie Dubinski and Trey Kauffman.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services (38040 Muddy Neck Rd, Ocean View, DE 19970). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Mariner's Bethel Cemetery (81 Central Ave, Ocean View, DE 19970).
