She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest of Washington; her son Ernest C. Hunter, Jr.; her parents, Charles Johnson and Ruth Johnson; and her sister Bernice Stallings.

She is survived by: her daughter Patricia D. Coverdale; her siblings, Berna Threadgill and Charles H. Johnson, Jr.; and her grandsons, Gregory Coverdale, Ernie and Eric Hunter. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-great grandsons, and a host of other relatives and friends.
