He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Earl Ellis and Maggie Mabel Cannon; his wife Joyce Ellis; his siblings, James Earl Ellis, Catherine Elizabeth Coleman and Marion Ray Ellis; and his son Thomas Frank Ellis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Fae Dixon (Chuck) of Middletown, DE and Cyndi Steele of Paris, KY; and his grandchildren, Ann Balback (Rob), Eric Robson (Tammy), Emily Blevins (Barry), Andrew Steele (Emma Bussell), Margaret Schwartz (Zack) and Richard Steele. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
