He was predeceased by: his son Mathew Nathan; his parents, Cecilia Kranichfeld (Glowacki) and Stanley Malanowicz; and his siblings, Rita Kirk, Geraldine Malanowicz, Buno Malanowicz and Jim Kranichfeld.
He is survived by: his daughter Michele Kelley (Jim); his stepdaughter Myra Doughty (Greg); his granddaughter Annie Wilber (Matt); his former wife Ann Rice (Phil); and his sisters, Adrianne Anne Trala, Christine Kranichfeld, MaryLou Collins and Nancy Miller. He is also survived by several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
