He was predeceased by: his parents, James Martin Kearns and Irene Kearns (Bayliss); his wife Ann S. Kearns (Wright); and his siblings, James Kearns, Irene Andorfer and Richard Kearns.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Kearns (Colleen) of Newark, DE, Deborah Kearns of Newark, DE and Kathleen Firnkes of Newark, DE; his grandchildren, Tricia Sparks (Brian), Kenny Kearns and MacKenzie Firnkes; and his great grandchild Abigail Sparks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
