He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosario Grifo and Gracia Grifo (Spina); his wife Emilia Grifo (Fusco); and his brother Antonio Grifo. He is survived by: his children, Rosario Grifo (Anna) and Robert Grifo; his grandchildren, Sophia, Julian and Alexander; and his sister Mirta Cordoba (Nestor). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
