She was predeceased by: her parents, Leopold Simons and Cora Simons (Lindo); and her husband Warren Harrington. She is survived by: her children, W. David Harrington (Joyce) of Bear and Bonnie King (Peter) of Rehoboth Beach; her grandchildren, Kimberly Dietrich (Dave), Tara Schad (Brian), Jennifer King and Courtney Bigler (Brett); and her great grandchildren, Meghan, Joshua, Jordan, Logan, Taylor and Brentley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Merle's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
