He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Cavender and Mary Cavender (Clay). He is survived by: his wife Mary Cavender (Connors); his children, LuAnne C. Walker (Robert) of Newark, DE and Paul M. Cavender (Margie) of Bear, DE; and his sister Patricia Hoover of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church.
