She was predeceased by: her parents, Matt Honkala and Anna Honkala; and her siblings, John Honkala, Margaret Smith, Lila Simkus, Florence Werronen and Carl Honkala.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Smith (Devie) of Newark, DE, Lani Heckert of Bethalto, IL, Todd Smith of Athens, AL, Kelly Smith of Wickliffe, OH and Scott Smith (Christine) of Carthage, NC.; her grandchildren, Karleen Heckert, Benjamin Heckert (Gwen), Otis Smith, Lara Smith, Katarina Wibbens (Ben), Martin Smith, Aleksander Smith, Lukas Smith and Sophia Smith; and her great grandchild Clark Heckert.
