He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bolden and Mabel Bolden (Wagner); his wife Scarlet Ann Bolden (Munson); his son Matthew B. Bolden; and his great grandchild Adam Caskey II.
He is survived by: his children, Samantha McGeoch (Allan), Gina Phillips (T. J. Woodruff), Gloria Davies (William) and Jack D. Bolden II (Lynne Burtell); and his sister Lucy Skelly. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 6 nieces and nephews.
