Elizabeth Matarese Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Matarese of Newark, Delaware, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on January 3, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Heckler (Berster) and William Heckler; her husband Michael James Matarese Jr.; her brother William Heckler; and her siblings-in-law, Alice Heckler and Vito Matarese.

She is survived by: her children, Deanna McFarlin (Frank Jr.), Michael James Matarese III (Wendy), William Matarese (Julie) and Steven Matarese (Lisa); her grandchildren, Frankie (Sarah), Jenna (Zac), Billy, Carly, Stevie, Haley (Joey), Erica, Kayleigh (Terry) and Shannon; her great grandchildren, Cyrus, Sienna, Valour, Oliver, Del, Julianna and Isabella; her sisters, LaVera Blanck (Bob), Joyce Roberts and Joan Wasylyszyn (Michael); and her sister-in-law Paula Salvatore. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
