She was predeceased by: her parents, Joyce Ann Ringgold and Alton Moorefield; her son Gregory R. Laster III; her grandparents, Geneva Brady and Perry Ringgold; her uncle Melvin Ringgold; and her father-in-law Gregory R. Laster Sr..

She is survived by: her husband Gregory R. Laster Jr.; her daughters, Nyeesha White (Dwayne), Sharlayia Ringgold and Gionna Laster; her stepdaughter Davine Laster; her siblings, Shamika Harris (Wayne Sr.) and Michael Beal; her nephews, Wayne Harris Jr., Justin and Alex Wright; her mother-in-law Sharon Laster; her sister-in-law Trista Wright; her aunts and uncles, Deborah, Augusta, Sharon, Bernard, Keith, Kevin, Damon, Perry and Raymond; and her cousins, Shawana, Jamel and Jameel.
