It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clifford James Murphy Jr. of New Castle, Delaware, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Mary Achenbach (Murphy) and Clifford J. Murphy Sr.; his stepfather Melvin "Mudge" Achenbach; his aunts, Joan Thomas and Stella; his uncle Layton T. Arterbridge Jr.; his sister-in-law Diana Charles; and his grandparents, Mary M., Raymond C. Knox, Layton T. Arterbridge Sr., Francis J Murphy and Bertha.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Murphy; his sister Diane Murphy Phillips (Wayne); his brother-in-law Bob Charles; his children, Clifford J. Murphy III (Meghan Aftosmis), Kerri Hunter (Bruce) and Wayne Lockwood; his grandchildren, Zack Hunter (Kelci), Nik Hunter, Jillian and Delaney Murphy; his great grandchildren, Landon and Avery Hunter; his nephews, Michael W. Phillips (Jessica) and Rob Charles; his niece Amy Phillips Harty; his cousins, Kimberly Newsom (William) and Richard Thomas; and also Jennifer Murphy.
