He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrence Whalen and Catherine Whalen; his son Matthew Whalen; and his sister Kathleen Mullen. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Whalen; his children, Kim Meyer (Keith), James Whalen (Lori), Marc Whalen (Lisa), Thomas Whalen (Mary), Brian Whalen (Nickie), Jennifer Morse (David) and Caitlin Whalen; and his brothers, Terrance Whalen (Elba) and Michael Whalen (Doreen). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
