He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gately (Pete) and Nora Gately; and his brother Kevin Gately. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughters, Noreen Omelczuk and Dina Liona; his children-in-law, Eddy and Joe; his grandchildren, Nicolette, Alexandra, Kyle, Julie and Eric; and his sister Patricia Kirchner (Pat). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
