He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Fleming Buchanan and Frances Johanna Berg Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Joan E. Whitelock Buchanan of Millsboro, DE; his children, John F. Buchanan (Bethlehem, MD) and Barbara J. Hodges (Dusty) of Midland, TX; his stepson Edward Whitelock (Katherine) of Barnesville, GA; his grandchildren, Jonathan Buchanan (Kelly), Grace Buchanan, Adam Hodges, Benjamin Hodges (Elizabeth) and Logan Hodges; and his great grandchildren, Drake, Kennedy, Kambri, Kaden, Kadence, Kenzie and Kreed.
