He is survived by: his father Joseph Hudson Ellis (Dot); his wife Cathleen Peters of Alexandria, VA; his children, Jennifer Reppe (Kameron) of Harrisburg, VA and Kevin Ellis of Portland, OR; his stepdaughter Hannah Shiblaq of Alexandria, VA; his sister Dori Kennedy (John) of Wilmington, DE.; his nephews, B. J. Wallace (Anna) and Justin Wallace; and his niece Kristi Bahgat (Sherif). He is also survived by 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the American Heart Association in Doug's honor.
