He was predeceased by: his parent Vander Smith; and his wife Mary Alice. He is survived by: his children, Karen Moyer (Tim) and Douglas Smith; and his grandsons, Ethan and Luke Moyer.

He was a good friend, a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a grand gentleman. I will miss him, as I miss Mary Alice. My deepest sympathy and love to the family.
