He was predeceased by: his siblings, Gency Convington, Nuanna Prince, Alene Young, Prentis McBride, Elizabeth McBride and Rose McCall; his daughter Arlene Smalls; and his wife Louise Williams.
He is survived by: his siblings, James McBride, Willie McBride of Providence and Mary Francis Washington of Bronx; his children, Ann Tyler of Middletown, Delores McBride of Brooklyn, NY, Patricia McBride of Charlotte, Christine Hepburn of Bennettsville, Johnny and Francis McEachin of Lumber Bridge; his nephews, Prentis McCall of Harlem and Victor Williams of Troy; his grandchildren, Ellis Smalls, Jr. (Linda Smalls) of Middletown, Pamela Smith (Darryl Smith) of Middletown, Erik Smalls of Los Angeles, Ebony Tyler of Middletown, Kiesean Riddick (Lori Riddick) of Brooklyn and Sharif Santos of Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Erika, Dashawn, Camay, Sakiya, Amadi, Josiah, Luke, Miles, Nico and Mateo; his great great grandchild Theisman (TJ); his grandchildren, Bernard, Gregory, Robert and April; and his friend John. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
