He was predeceased by: his parents, Segundo Baez and Lydia Molina; and his sister Leocadea Baez. He is survived by: his wife Yolanda; his children, Nelson Baez (Beneranda), Robert Velez (Julia), Lydia Aviles (Ray), Haydee Rivera (Rene) and Christina Ortiz (Henry); and his grandchildren, Abelardo, Amanda Victoria, Jasmine, Joy, Gabriella Leilani Milagros, Antonio Joseph Felix, Samantha Crystal, Robert C. Velez Jr., Imanni Yolanda and Amiyah Aurora.
