He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Gillespie and Margaret Gillespie (McFadden). He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, David A. Gillespie, Jr. (Kristen) and Kristian Vance; his grandchildren, Logan, Gavyn and Danyka; and his brother Harvey Gillespie (Larraine).
