He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edwards, Jr. and Doretha Fields Edwards. He is survived by: his daughters, Gabrielle Edwards and Akomah Mensah (Willie); his stepsons, David Sheppard (Susan) and Darius Baynard (Kristina); and his grandchildren, Benjamin Sheppard, Priscilla Johnson, Jaidyn Maull and Sidney Sheppard. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; three special friends; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other in-laws, relatives, and friends.
